Vegemate was built for exactly that moment. You open the app, throw in whatever vegetables or leftovers you have, set your dietary preferences , high protein, low carb, vegan, whatever fits your goals , and Vegemate returns a full recipe. Not just a name. A complete breakdown: ingredients, steps, total prep and cook time, and a full calorie and macro count. The recipes feel real because the constraints are real , it's not generating theoretically healthy food, it's generating food you can actually make tonight with what you have. And when you find one that works for you, you save it. Your favorites live in the app, ready whenever you need them.
Problem Statement
Vegetarian meals are already a puzzle in many countries. Add language barriers, unfamiliar grocery stores, and the pressure of actually eating well , and meal planning becomes genuinely hard. Most recipe apps give you beautiful dishes that require 14 ingredients you don't have. That's not useful. That's aspirational content.
Solution
Flip the model. Instead of starting from a recipe and buying ingredients, Vegemate starts from what you already have and builds the recipe around you. The dietary filter isn't an afterthought , it's a first-class input, so the output is actually aligned with how you eat, not just what's possible.
Next up
Vegemate is being actively refined. Next up: a saved meal history so you can track what you've been eating, smarter ingredient substitutions, and a weekly meal planner view. Eventually, I want to open-source the core recipe engine so other developers can build on top of it.
